Our History

Hill Country Christian School of Austin was established in 1996 as a ministry of Hill Country Bible Church. The elder board of HCBC and a subcommittee of staff and church members led the strategy to build a Christ-centered, Classical, college-preparatory school to serve local families. Forty-nine students were enrolled the inaugural year. In 1998, the school consolidated with Hill Country Christian Heritage School, and in 2000 the first graduating class of Hill Country walked the stage.

Since its founding, the school has grown tenfold, now serving over 560 students in preschool through twelfth grade and offering a comprehensive curriculum that includes numerous programs in the academic, athletic, and fine arts arenas. Since its inception, Hill Country has endeavored to prepare its students to become Christ-like leaders in their schools, churches, communities, families and vocations. Alumnae now serve in fields as diverse as law, the military, medicine, education, and business, and graduates attend universities throughout Texas and beyond.
