Lower School (K-6th)
Welcome from the Lower School Principal
Hello! My name is Kristine Kruse, and I have the great privilege of serving as the Lower School Principal at Hill Country Christian School of Austin. I am entering my tenth year at the school and can tell you from the perspective of both a teacher and an administrator that this is a place where the joy of the Lord and of learning is present! The mission of Hill Country’s Lower School is to provide a joyful, interactive environment that inspires students to love God and seek biblical truth as they develop a Christ-like character and a solid foundation in the core subjects.
We believe that students learn best in a stimulating, interactive environment, and we adhere to the classical philosophy that the acquisition of knowledge should correspond with the natural stages through which a child develops. Instruction in the Lower School is centered on engaging classroom discussions and questioning involving higher order thinking skills. Hands-on learning opportunities are also provided in every academic area.
We also believe that the best education a child can receive is one with Christ at its core, and that students should be taught to recognize truth in every academic area. In the Lower School, memorizing, studying, and applying scripture is a key component of a student’s education. Scripture is not taught in isolation but is integrated into every aspect of the learning environment.
If you are looking for a school that provides a solid and challenging academic foundation and encourages your child to grow in their faith and in their relationship with the Lord, then Hill Country Christian School of Austin may be exactly what you have been seeking. I encourage you to take the next step and set up an appointment with our Director of Admissions to tour the school and attend a school preview.
Thank you for considering Hill Country Christian School as a potential partner in the education of your child. God bless you!
