Track & Field

Hill Country Christian School began its track and field program in 2001 under the leadership of Head Coach Toby Thurman, a former Olympic-level, All-American distance runner. Students have the opportunity to compete in a wide variety of events, including relays, distance and sprint races, shot put, and pole vault. Track and field has historically been one of Hill Country's most popular and successful sports, garnering an impressive array of championships, including:

1 team state championship, 2 team state runner-ups.

9 individual state championships.

  • 1/ 400 meters (Track)
  • 1/ long jump (Track)
  • 1/ pole vault (Track)
  • 1/ cross country

1 individual TAPPS 2A "Female Athlete of the Year" award from the Texas Track and Field Coaches Association.

 

Numerous Hill Country track athletes have been offered spots to play at the collegiate level, including Division 1-level track.
