Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF)

Partnering with a Higher Purpose

The mission of the PTF is to develop a positive and welcoming climate for all parents while assisting the administration in meeting its current needs through:

  • Advancing the mission and vision of the school and contributing to a positive school climate.
  • Facilitating communication between the parents, the Head Master, the administrative staff, the faculty, and the Board of Trustees.
  • Supporting teacher, staff, and the administration to do their work effectively.
  • Serving and loving our teachers, staff, and administrators as they carry out their work.
  • Promoting academic, spiritual, and social development for our student body that increases re-enrollment.
  • Enhancing parental participation.

When Do We Meet?

School-wide PTF meetings are held twice a year (Fall - 2nd Tuesday in September; Spring - 2nd Tuesday in April). These meetings are open to all parents, faculty and staff of Hill Country Christian School.  See the school calendar for exact dates and locations.  Please join us to hear how the Board and Committee Chairs are partnering with school administrators and teachers to enhance the spirit of Hill Country Christian School.

Committee Chair meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month in the Cafe from 2:00pm - 3:00pm.  Anyone that would like to attend is welcome.

Ways to Serve

Please prayerfully consider where you can serve our students, faculty and staff with your spiritual gifts and sign up on VolunteerHub.

Simple Ways to Support Our School

Family Knight Socials:  These social gatherings are held at neighborhood restaurants. Mention Hill Country when dining at the designated restaurant, and a percentage of your bill will be donated to our school. Look for more information in the weekly Knightly News.

Box Tops for Education:  Don't forget to save your box tops and bring them to the school office. Save them through the summer and then start a new collection when school starts.

Randall's "Good Neighbor Program":  To link our school to your Randall's Remarkable Card, simply complete the Remarkable Application Form at the store, fill in the top portion and the "Good Neighbor Program" section, indicating our account number (9530). More information regarding this program can be found at www.randalls.com.

Target REDcard:  Use your Target REDcard, and you will save 5% off your purchases, plus 1% of your purchases will be donated to Hill Country.  This is a debit card, not a credit card, and the money is withdrawn directly from your checking account.  Check out this link to learn more:  https://redcard.target.com/redcard/content/rcw_benefits_tgt_rewards.

Office Depot:  Hill Country is assigned a 5% Back to School ID number.  Whenever purchases are made in the store, online, or over the phone, if ID#70094679 is presented, Office Depot will give Hill Country credit for 5% of the qualifying purchases in the form of an Office Depot Mercandise Card that can be used towards FREE supplies.

PTF Committees

PTF Alumni Committee creates and coordinates a Hill Country Alumni program that provides mentoring for current high school students and keeps alumni active in the school. We need alums & parents of alums to help: coordinate college visits between Hill Country students and alumni, build an alumni endowment fund, create a mentoring program for current high school students, coordinate alumni events and maintain the alumni database.

PTF High School Event's purpose is to enhance and support activities for grades 9 through 12. The committee offers support to teachers, administration, students and families. In addition, we focus on encouraging and equipping parents of our high school students.

PTF Middle School Event's purpose is to enhance and support activities for grades 6 through 8. The committee offers support to teachers, administration, students and families.

PTF Lower School Events, PK through 5th grade, has many fun-filled and educational events, and we are seeking a number of parents to help facilitate the following: Speech Meet, Spelling Bee, Science Fair, End of Year Party, Knights of Celebration, and many other grade level events.

PTF Fellowship Events has the privilege to organize school-wide events and support Admissions events. This is a fantastic opportunity to get to know parents from all grade levels. There are several big and small ways to plug into this committee: PK and Kinder Breakfast, Back to School Social, Homecoming Carnival, Family Knight Socials, Daddy Daughter Dance and Reunion Ranch.

PTF Homeroom Moms are class parents who work in teams to coordinate parent volunteers.

PTF Community Builders:

The Community Builders Committee plans, coordinates, and supports parent-led communication and fellowship among Hill Country Christian School families.  This committee assists the Advancement Office (Admissions, Marketing, and Communications) with various team building efforts.

The Community Builders consist of different groups of parents, such as Grade Level Community Builders, Team Builders, and Dads Group.

PTF Staff Appreciation Committee encourages and refreshes our school staff in creative and fun ways, including monthly appreciation luncheons and adopt-a-staff member.

PTF Healthy Knights Committee serves Hill Country staff, parents and students by facilitating nutrition and wellness education, promoting a healthy school environment, building enthusiasm about nutrient dense foods and exercise, and supporting the creation of life-long healthy habits that honor God in order to encourage individuals to grow healthier and stronger as they serve Jesus Christ.
