What do you love about working at Hill Country?
We have been blessed with amazing parents who are very involved in the education of their children and desire for them to hear God’s Word every day. Our teachers do an amazing job of relating to their students and delivering effective and interesting lessons each and every day.

What is your favorite scripture or quote?
Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not be afraid for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe children should be taught skills and concepts that are developmentally appropriate. I believe that the relationship a teacher has with a child is one of the most important components of a child’s success in school. Teachers must know their content well and should model correct learning and thinking habits as well as differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students. Student learning should not solely focus on grades but also on how well students attend to and take responsibility for learning. I do not believe in accepting substandard work from a student and know how valuable it is to provide opportunities for corrections, editing, revision, rereading, and rewriting for the sake of learning and achieving excellence. I believe a child’s personality and motivation impact their learning and recognize the importance of identifying personality types as well as ways in which they learn best.

What are your hobbies or favorite things?
I love cooking, hiking, landscaping, and going to National Parks.
