I was born in Austin and returned here years ago after living in West Texas and Florida. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Texas Tech University and earned a teaching certification through LeTourneau University. Before joining Hill Country in 2016, I worked in other Austin-area private schools.

What are your hobbies or your favorite things?
I love spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy travel, reading, and going on walks with my silly golden retriever.

What is your favorite food?
Mexican and Italian

Growing up, you hoped to become a…
Veterinarian, writer, or horse wrangler and camp counselor in the mountains.

Other than the Bible, what’s your all-time favorite book?
This changes all the time, but I love how these authors write: Laura Hillenbrand, John Eldridge, and Rick Bragg.

What is an interesting fact about you?
After many years in journalism, where I got to write, edit and design, God has taken me from newsrooms to classrooms. I am very blessed to have a second career that I love.

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Psalm 19:1

Who has had the greatest influence on your life and why?
I am thankful for many wonderful influencers including: my mother, who loves and gives unconditionally; my father who instilled in me a love for reading and words; Young Life and youth group leaders who helped me grow in my faith; and a riding teacher who modeled the discipline required in caring for showing horses.

What do you love about teaching at Hill Country?
I love the biblical integration and incorporation of faith in our lessons. I love third graders and the curriculum we have the privilege of teaching them.
