I graduated with my BA from Purdue University, MA from Trinity School for Ministry, and am currently completing my EdD in Educational Leadership at Concordia University Texas. In 2016, I moved to Austin to begin teaching at Hill Country Christian School, and have served as the Upper School Principal since 2018. I have two future Hill Country students, class of 2034 and class of 2037!
What do you believe makes Hill Country distinct?
The faculty and staff at Hill Country Christian School make all the difference. As committed professionals, mentors, and role models, the faculty and staff facilitate academic inquiry, build confidence, and encourage Christ-likeness in all students through authentic relationships. We know every student individually and are able to guide each of them in their curricular and extracurricular pursuits that uniquely prepare them to fulfill God’s calling on their lives.
What is your favorite Scripture?
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12
What is your teaching philosophy?
Education is, at its core, the cultivation of wisdom and virtue. When students are trained to synthesize the logic, order, and beauty inherent in every discipline – seeing each, individually, as interconnected with all others – they are able to engage in analytical reasoning and creative problem-solving in every field of study. At the core of our educational philosophy is our Lord, God, and Savior – Jesus Christ – Who is the eternal Word and Wisdom of the Father, and Who has revealed the ultimate purpose of our education, namely, to use our learning to more fully love God and love others.
