I came to Austin for college in the mid-’80s and then moved back in 1994. I earned my elementary education degree from The University of Texas. I taught here at Hill Country for one year in 2004, then again starting in 2011. I’ve also taught first grade at the American School in Monterrey, Mexico. My two children attended Hill Country from kindergarten through 8th grade.

Football

What is your favorite hobby or one of your favorite things?
Road trips to national parks.

Doctor

Other than the Bible, what’s your all-time favorite book?
Les Miserables by Victor Hugo

What is an interesting fact about you?
Before I had kids, I had my private pilot’s license.

If you could meet one historical figure or famous person, who would it be and why?
Other than Jesus, it would be the apostle John. I would love to hear all about the time he spent with Jesus, his life sharing the gospel, and the revelation he received while in exile.

The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17

Who has had the greatest influence on your life and why?
My parents – they have been amazing examples of love, faithfulness, generosity, and sacrifice.

What do you believe makes Hill Country distinct?
The strength of our many offerings here at Hill Country makes our school distinct. Our Upper and Lower School students have the opportunity to participate and excel in a variety of pursuits, which makes their school experience so much richer and more well-rounded.

What do you love about teaching at Hill Country?
I love teaching my students from the Bible. I have the honor to present Scripture to them and lead them in discussion; I am constantly amazed at their insights and deep questions. Learning about God’s Word together with my students and praying with them is such a blessing.
