Mission & Vision
Mission
We partner with Christian families to impart truth, cultivate character, and inspire service while preparing college-bound students to think logically, communicate effectively, and impact the world with the love of Christ.
Vision
Hill Country Christian School will be a recognized leader among Christ-centered schools that aspire to deliver an excellent liberal arts and sciences education in the classical tradition.
Purpose
We educate, inspire, and prepare the next generation of leaders to impact the world for Christ.
Covenantal
What Does “Covenantal” Mean?
At Hill Country Christian School, we are proudly covenantal. This means we partner with families who are committed to following Jesus.
Every family includes at least one professing Christian parent who affirms our Statement of Faith, creating a close-knit community united by shared faith and purpose.
You don’t need to be a member of a specific denomination — or attend our founding church, Hill Country Bible Church — to join our school. You only need to commit to the essentials of the Christian faith. (In fact, we currently have students from more than 90 churches.)
This covenantal approach makes a difference in real, practical ways. Parents quickly build meaningful friendships with other families who share their values, and students grow up in a community where teachers and classmates reinforce the biblical truths they learn at home.
We want students to see themselves as part of a broader body of believers, using our gifts to impact the world for Christ. This balance makes Hill Country Christian School a place where families do life together, supporting one another through challenges while celebrating victories.
“Because of this covenantal foundation, our students are discipled holistically: intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. We’re intentional about not being too insular, but our shared values help fast-track authentic community.”
– Mr. Jacob Lindsey, High School Principal
When your child walks into a classroom, you want to know they are in a place that strengthens their faith. You want them to ask big questions, wrestle with complex ideas, and grow in understanding and wisdom.
That’s the heart of classical covenantal education.
At Hill Country Christian School, every discussion, every assignment, and every subject is viewed through the lens of God’s truth. They learn to seek wisdom, appreciate beauty, pursue truth, and recognize goodness as reflections of God himself.
Core Beliefs
AT HILL COUNTRY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL OF AUSTIN WE ARE:
Focused on Christ. We believe knowing Jesus Christ and choosing to serve Him as Lord are essential for redemption and regeneration, and that this choice is necessary for human beings to realize their purpose and full potential (Col. 1:15-20: Heb. 1:1-3; Rom. 3:21-24; 2 Cor. 5:17-21; Prov. 3:5-6).
Rooted in Scripture. We acknowledge the truth and authority of Scripture, and hold it to be foundational. As such, we strive to teach all subjects from a biblical worldview, based firmly in the revelation of God’s Word (2 Tim. 3:16-17, 2 Pet. 1:19-21; Matt. 4:4, 7, 10; 2 Tim. 4:2).
Cultivating Leaders. We believe in cultivating students to be humble servant-leaders preparing them to impact others through selfless service. Becoming such a leader requires a firm identity in Christ, an understanding of culture and development of a unique, compelling voice (John 13:12- 15; Mark 10:45; Phil. 2:3-11; 2 Cor. 3:2-3).
Promoting Scholarship Informed by Classical Thought. We inspire academic curiosity, growth, and confidence in students as we train them throughout the learning process to think logically, communicate effectively, develop character, and value scholarship (Prov. 9:10; Rom. 12:2; Matt. 22:37; 1 Kings 4:29-34).
Forging Authentic Relationships. We invite families into Christian community, in which we strive to live with integrity, resolve disputes biblically, hold each other accountable in love, and build deep, meaningful relationships, as we work together to raise the next generation for Christ (Heb. 10:23-25; 1 Thess. 2:8; Col. 1:28-29; Matt. 18:15-17).
Making Disciples. We embrace the biblical call to “make disciples.” This includes teaching biblical truth, sharing the love of Jesus, training older students and providing opportunities for them to mentor younger students, and encouraging one another in prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit to take the next step in our journey (Matt. 28:18-20; 2 Tim. 2:2; Mark 12:28-31; 1 Cor. 15:3-8).

School History
Hill Country Christian School was established in 1996 as a ministry of Hill Country Bible Church. The HCBC elder board and a subcommittee of staff and church members led the strategy to build a Christ-centered, Classical, college-preparatory private school. Forty-nine students were enrolled the inaugural year. In 1998, the school consolidated with Hill Country Christian Heritage School, and in 2000, the first graduating class walked the stage.
The school serves over 700 students in preschool through twelfth grade and offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes numerous academic, athletic, and fine arts programs. Hill Country endeavors to prepare students to become Christ-like leaders in their schools, churches, communities, families, and vocations.
