Hill Country Stories

One distinctive that sets Hill Country Christian School apart is our close-knit, Christ-centered community. We believe the best way to learn about our school is to hear personal stories from our faculty, parents, students, and alumni about their Hill Country experiences. Telling the Old, Old Story in a Brand New Way

I am blessed to be part of our Lower School spiritual formation at Hill Country Christian School. As Lower School principal, I plan and lead weekly chapels, along with support from our chapel planning team (music teacher Alice Thompson and Director of Christian Life Craig Bland). We set aside time every week to gather as a student body, listen to God’s Word, respond to God in prayer and song, and send students and teachers back to the classroom to learn and serve in God’s world.

Read more from The Realm, our annual school magazine. In it, you will find a year in review with a variety of encouraging and insightful stories from those within our school community.

#CantStopHillCo ⠀ Here's a peek into what our Hill Country teachers, staff, and students have been up to this week. ⠀ ⠀ Principals shared remote learning plans with our families and Upper School teachers and students performed a beta test of their virtual classes. ⠀ ⠀ Lower School students showed off their newly created home workspaces and hosted virtual birthday parties and playdates, including a "let's draw together" session and a prayer time. ⠀ ⠀ Our yearbook staff is busy hosting online interviews with students to get their perspectives and stories at this historic time. ⠀ ⠀ Principals and our Director of Christian Life are crafting engaging, weekly chapels to help our students feel connected and encouraged to continue seeking the Lord. ⠀ ⠀ We are thankful; thankful for our families who have supported our efforts to bring excellent instruction to our students in new ways. We are thankful for our faculty and staff who are working tirelessly to prepare a new remote learning experience. We are thankful for the grace and understanding our community has extended to us. We are thankful to our school leaders for their encouragement, vision, and intentionality. Finally, we are most thankful to God for a school that puts Him first in all things and for the opportunity to equip servant-leaders who impact the world with the life-changing reality of Jesus Christ. Thank you for entrusting your students to us. We look forward to the start of remote learning next week! ⠀ ⠀ At a time when so much has stopped, Hill Country continues. #CantStopHillCo
