Mission and Vision
Hill Country Christian School is a Christ-centered community that partners with Christian families to inspire and equip college-bound students to become lifelong learners, effective communicators, and servant-leaders who impact the world with the life-changing reality of Jesus Christ.
Hill Country Christian School will be a recognized leader among Christ-centered schools that aspire to deliver an excellent liberal arts and sciences education in the classical tradition.
Hill Country Christian School was established in 1996 as a ministry of Hill Country Bible Church. The HCBC elder board and a subcommittee of staff and church members led the strategy to build a Christ-centered, Classical, college-preparatory private school. Forty-nine students were enrolled the inaugural year. In 1998, the school consolidated with Hill Country Christian Heritage School, and in 2000, the first graduating class walked the stage.
The school serves over 570 students in preschool through twelfth grade and offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes numerous academic, athletic, and fine arts programs. Hill Country endeavors to prepare students to become Christ-like leaders in their schools, churches, communities, families, and vocations.
Hill Country Christian School is a Christ-centered community that is:
Rooted in Scripture. We believe that a Christ-centered education acknowledges the truth and authority of Scripture, and we strive to ensure that all subjects are taught from a biblical worldview and a gospel-centered perspective. (Psalm 1:1-2, John 1:1, 2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Dependent upon prayer. We believe in the power and efficacy of prayer, and we emphasize the importance of seeking God’s wisdom and direction rather than relying on our own understanding and provision. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Philippians 4:6)
Empowered by the Spirit. We believe that the Holy Spirit changes lives and produces fruit in the lives of those empowered by Him. (Galatians 5:22-23, Acts 1:8)
Focused on others. We believe in providing opportunities for students to serve one another, their community, and their world, and we strive to cultivate a sense of servant-leadership among our students. (Philippians 2:3-5, Matthew 20:26-28)
Living in community. We believe that God designed us to live in community and to depend on one another. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
Reproducing disciples. We believe that the ultimate aim of a Christian education is to reproduce disciples—men and women who become Christ-followers and who are able to transform the world. (Matthew 28:19-20)
