I’ve lived in many places, including Philadelphia, Hong Kong, White Plains, New York, and Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota, but settled in Austin in 1998. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and my master’s from the University of Minnesota.

After college, I conducted research and analysis for an economic research consulting firm. When I finished my master’s degree, I did policy analysis and program evaluation for the Minnesota Office of the Legislative Auditor. I began teaching at Hill Country in 2012. My husband and I have one current Hill Country senior, Class of 2022.

What is your favorite Scripture or quote?
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are – yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:14-16, NIV
