I was born and raised in Austin. I earned my Bachelor of Arts as a University Scholar (Classics Concentration) from Baylor University and my master’s degree in classics from the University of Kansas. After college, I taught at Founders Classical Academy of Schertz from 2017 to 2019 and started at Hill Country in 2020.

Other than the Bible, what’s your all-time favorite book?
Virgil’s Aeneid

What is an interesting fact about you?
I started learning Latin in 6th grade, but my first interaction with the language was when my sister read Virgil’s Aeneid for her AP class when I was in 1st grade.

If you could meet one historical figure or famous person, who would it be and why?
Though Virgil is very high on the list, I would want to meet “Homer,” whomever that individual or group was. The Iliad and the Odyssey have had such an impact upon not only my life but also on all of Western Culture. Plus, I’d really like to know if the blind bard theory is true!

What is your favorite Scripture or quote?
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by the faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20

What do you believe makes Hill Country distinct?
Hill Country’s dedication to both academics and faith makes it a truly wonderful place to be.

What do you love about teaching at Hill Country?
I love the students I work with here and that I am blessed to have a very small role in the lives of individuals who will do great things for the Lord.
