I earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with an emphasis in Forest Education from San Francisco State University. I also received my Master of Science in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Math and Science from Stephen F. Austin State University. I worked in the forest service education division before becoming a teacher. I started teaching at Hill Country in 2019.

What is your favorite sport?
I love watching all sports, especially Texas A&M Aggie football with my husband.

What is your favorite hobby or one of your favorite things?
I love camping, hunting, fishing, reading, watching movies, and cooking.

What is your favorite food?
Mexican and home cooking.

Growing up, you hoped to become a…
Astronaut, I just love science. I was really looking forward to seeing teaching in space until the tragedy of the space shuttle. Teaching kids the love of learning and being curious is the next best thing.

Other than the Bible, what’s your all-time favorite book?
The Anne of Green Gables series

What is an interesting fact about you?
I lived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in Africa, when I was a little girl. I have traveled through all of Europe on the way to Africa and all of the far East on the way back. I’ve also worked for the US Forest Service as a park ranger that took people on nature hikes and did educational programs with kids in the Junior Ranger program.

If you could meet one historical figure or famous person, who would it be and why?
I really would love to meet our founding fathers and hear their ideas on how they founded our great country.

What song would be the soundtrack to your life?
Any Christian song about growing would be the soundtrack of my life because I have so much growing to do.

God because He is my ultimate truth!

What do you love about teaching at Hill Country?
I love the Christ-centered environment and the privilege of being able to teach with a biblical perspective of the world.
